Do you write code yourself?
Sometimes, especially early in a rescue. But my primary role is to assess, plan, and lead. I typically bring in or manage the right developers, vendors, or internal team members to execute the work.
Do you replace our existing team?
Not by default. In many cases, the existing team is part of the solution. If changes are needed, I help restructure the team or bring in the right resources.
What if we already have an IT manager or development lead?
